As CEO of Strait Profit Solutions Inc., Ken has spent more than 5 years working with businesses of every size and type, both domestically and internationally, identifying their potential, and implementing the programs, training and organizational structure necessary to increase their profits. His accomplishments with Strait Profit Solutions include:
- Saving more than $8 million in cost of goods for a major retailer of outdoor and sporting goods, while structuring the set-up and training of their product development and overseas sourcing team
- Assisting one client in turning a $5 million company acquisition into 3 companies, one of which sold for over $15 million in two years.
- Obtaining one half million dollars in State funding for an IT start up
- Identifying and recruiting high level management including President, Board Members and Division Heads for clients.
Prior to creating Strait Profit Solutions Inc. in 2001, Ken was employed by a number of prestigious retail and catalog firms such as Federated Department Stores, LL Bean and Gander Mountain. His accomplishments include:
- Growing a new division from 0 to a profitable $30 Million in revenue in 3 years
- Growing another Division from $40 Million to more than $100 Million in revenue while increasing margins in just 2 years
- Increasing margins and profits in another $100 Million Division by over 600 basis points in one year while increasing revenues.
Ken has worked hands on to organize, direct, and implement E-commerce, Product Licensing, Product Development, Merchandising, Buying, Catalog pagination, Inventory Control, Sourcing Areas, Business Plans, Exit Strategies, Strategic Planning, and S.W.O.T.. In addition to his passion for profitable business growth, he also has a genuine love for people and their training and development. He has taught numerous business classes on various subjects including negotiation skills, assortment planning, retail mathematics, and conversion planning.
Ken is accredited by the Institution for Independent Business. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Business Management/Marketing from the University of Cincinnati. He is active in organizing and coaching youth lacrosse, football and basketball. He teaches and serves as Stewardship Chair and as a member of the Council in his local Church.
